Couples’ holidays in Cornwall
Cornwall is widely regarded as the UK’s favourite family holiday destination. It’s the place to go for your big summer getaway. However, it’s also an ideal place for romantic breaks and quiet getaways with your loved one.
Escape the crowds, the queues and the congestion and enjoy a break in Cornwall out of the peak school holiday season and you’ll see a different side to this county. With an early or late season break you can enjoy Cornwall at a more leisurely pace; take a romantic stroll on a deserted beach, enjoy a meal at one of the county’s top restaurants or spend some time exploring Cornwall’s many idyllic destinations such as Padstow, Port Isaac or Boscastle – without having to battle through the crowds of tourists.
Our holiday parks in Cornwall are perfect for romantic breaks or longer stays. With four parks to choose from on the north and south Cornwall coasts, you’re only a stone’s throw from the county’s must-visit locations.
If you’re planning to treat your loved one to a few days away, here’s just a few ideas of you should spend your time in Cornwall…
Head to one of Cornwall’s most romantic beaches and take a stroll across the sand at sunset. Some of our favourites include Constantine Beach near Padstow and Mawgan Porth near Newquay. Out of season, these beaches really do take some beating. Take along a picnic and watch the sun go down over the Atlantic waves – what better way to spend your evening?
Dine out in style in one of Cornwall’s many top restaurants. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just love great food, you really are spoilt for choice in Cornwall. If you want to try one of the ‘big name celebrity chef’ restaurants then check out Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Paul Ainsworth’s No 6 at Padstow or Restaurant Nathan Outlaw at Port Isaac.
There are many other fantastic places to enjoy, too, that won’t break the bank. Some of our favourites include The Wheelhouse in Falmouth, Kota Kai in Porthleven, The Old Quay House in Fowey, The Victoria Inn at Marazion or The Ferryboat Inn at Helford. All are gloriously romantic settings that would melt even the coldest of hearts.
Take a river cruise along one of Cornwall’s many estuaries and waterways. Hire a small boat or jump on board one of the many regular cruises that depart from just about any port or coastal town in the county. Some of our favourites include boat trips along the River Fal, which call at Malpas, Falmouth, Truro and St Mawes. It’s a great way to take in Cornwall’s coastal beauty and enjoy some quality time with your partner.
